Every time we went on vacation, I wanted to *live* there - Florida, San Francisco (but not LA), northern Wisconsin, etc. But a trip to the USSR (back when it was the USSR) helped me appreciate home. Hope you make it to NZ and Australia!bittenbyknittinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03319831711404273005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3386593357064408531.post-40669576469589029242011-01-26T09:45:22.089-06:002011-01-26T09:45:22.089-06:00From Frankie Laine (in the post title) to Teresa B...From Frankie Laine (in the post title) to Teresa Brewer! I remember them both. My first "faraway place" had to be Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.

I lived in the country and didn't get to a library often. Instead, I curled up with a 20-volume set of The Book of Knowledge. I still have mental images of many of its illustrations.rhymeswithplaguehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10870439618129001633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3386593357064408531.post-16777089863955623312011-01-26T06:06:43.394-06:002011-01-26T06:06:43.394-06:00I fear my only traveling has been through books si...I fear my only traveling has been through books since I became an adult. "The Good Earth" made me wish for a China trip. I too have a restless foot but my purse anchors me.
If you make it to New Zealand, give Peter a hug for me.
Check out Amazon freebie, "Letters of a Woman Homesteader" written in the early 1900's. So far I am loving it.Arkansas Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156004753267665579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3386593357064408531.post-40709794537295323282011-01-25T22:56:28.552-06:002011-01-25T22:56:28.552-06:00Hi Pat, I hope you do get to visit Australia and ...Hi Pat, I hope you do get to visit Australia and New Zealand someday.
