Dayton Veterans Center has a similar cemetery with thousands of tombstones that date way back in time. It is a shame to have to see this but there they are.
ReplyDeleteYour photograph is beautiful.
That is a sobering reminder of the price of war. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteIt's odd how weather can change in an instant like that, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteNice photo, Pat.

So many lost love ones. How sad. The picture is a wonderful reminder of what Memorial Day is!
ReplyDeleteVery good photo for Memorial Day, and a good reminder of what it's all about. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGood SWF for Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteA thoughtful skywatch.
ReplyDeleteA thoughtful and beautiful photo. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThe angle you took the photo from lines up the stones s they are almost like soldiers at attention. I agree with Sandy that it's a sobering reminder of what war costs.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very moving photo - and a good one. It is indeed a thought filled reminder.
ReplyDeleteThe flags near the headstones make them especially poignant. And something about the perspective of the photo makes the rows seem to go on forever.
ReplyDeleteVery moving, Pat.
A beautiful portrait paying tribute to our fallen soldiers.
ReplyDeleteSuch a poignant shot. The weather in Arkansas sounds exactly like it is here in Melbourne - four seasons in one day!
ReplyDeleteLoved your comment on my latest Verse and Worse post!! Thank you kindly ....
Beautiful photo with a haunting feeling...
ReplyDeleteSad and beautiful at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHA! Very funny what you wrote about the weather in Arkansas, it's a lot like that in Sydney, Australia. The clouds in your photo look lovely, even if soon turned mean ;)
ReplyDeleteVery good photo for Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteNice take on SW captured well.
ReplyDeletePop over to see my water features.
What a shot - clouds and memorial stones in same kind of line...
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely blue sky. We dont have memorial day here.
ReplyDeleteA fine tribute to your brother and all others who lie there. My husband was buried in the Long Island National Cemetery. Far too many
ReplyDeleteNice SWF photo for Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo and nice post honoring the war dead!
ReplyDeleteNice picture. Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteThis makes you stop and be thankful for all these soldiers who fought for freedom.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful picture.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot, Pat! Happy Memorial Day!
ReplyDeletePat, a beautiful and sobering image.
ReplyDeleteA time to stop and think post... I like the mix of pictures and posts this week.. and I like the though behind this one.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, if you don't like the weather... wait. I would love to have your Arkansas weather!!! Great shot, Pat! I need to visit a national cemetery... great for perspective.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteLove the lines there.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. Love the setting!
ReplyDeleteThis shot really caught my attention. I have loved ones that were buried at Arlington this year, making this recent holiday appropriate picture one of my favorites for this week.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful skywatch, thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteA good and thought provoking Skywatch post.
ReplyDeleteI love cemeteries. Amazing how they keep them all in a straight line, from whichever direction.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture.
Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog.
I think this shot is sad and beautiful at the same time. But a very good shot.
ReplyDeleteGreat composition.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. A great story. And I love the other posts and pictures. Vietnam is not a favorite subject for many, me included. I served from 66-70. Lost a couple of friends and a few wounded. One, wounded for life. He took his own life Christmas day a number of years ago.
ReplyDeleteMike
Time of reflection and thought. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteA thought provoking picture and a nice tribute, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Pat. It reminds me of Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. In Georgia (where I live), a brand new national cemetery was opened about 15 miles from us just this past year. Surrounded by the rolling hills of southern Appalachia, it is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful final resting place. My wife and I hope to be laid to rest there, as veterans and their spouses are eligible (I was in USAF, 1961-1965). You can't make advance reservations, you have to contact them when the need arises.
ReplyDeleteWonderful image, very evocative. Congratulations! (from a non-photographer, but I know what I like!)
All these tombs, so far! Very impressive picture!
ReplyDeleteAll these flags!
Your picture has a high value.
I love this photo Pat. It reminds me to be thankful to all who served our country. When we were children one of my sisters once won a poster contest with a drawing nearly like this for memorial day.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a very fine tribute to many that have given there lives for us great sky watch
ReplyDeleteTahnk you so much for wishing our daughter Angela a Happy Birthday.
