Sky Watch - Post 81

Not a cloud to be seen anywhere today! Hooray!

We've had quite enough rain lately, thank you, so it's nice to look out my front door this morning and see clear, blue skies. To keep you from having to look at a totally blue photo, I included a couple of trees in my shot. Thanks to cooler weather, the maple tree across the street is beginning to get a few tinges of fall color. For some interesting information on what causes changes in foliage color, visit Jeannelle's post today on her blog Midlife by Farmlight .

Sky Watch was created by Dot and is now brought to you by our friends Imac, Klaus, Sandy and Tom. Visit the Sky Watch Friday home page anytime after 7:30 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time on Thursday

  1. Our sky is also nice and blue today, from the storm that blew through on Sunday.

  7. Hi, Pat!

Your photo is crisp and beautiful! Yes, I can see the maple changing color and that's always a nice contrast with evergreen foliage!

Thank you for the link to my leaf-changing info post! I just found that little article to be so interesting.

  16. It is a rare and beautiful thing to see the sky so blue. I like that you included the trees for contrast, though I once took a photo of pure, blue sky. It didn't impress anyone... I needed a point of reference. Nice work here.

  28. Happy blue skies for as long as you wish for! :-)

Regarding the skeins of birds on my blog, they were taken around Lake Neusiedl, which is a birders' paradise, especially during bird migration season. There were so many birds to observe there last weekend, starlings, swallows, geese, and birds of prey, all on their travel southwards. I even watched a skein of swans flying overhead! Too bad I did not recognize the noise of their wings until it was to late to grab my camera to get a decent picture (then my zoom is too weak anyway, to get close enough for really great close-ups).

  38. Well, I thought I left a comment earlier, but apparently it went off into the void (that big bit-bucket in the sky).

Great photo, Pat, with such vivid, brilliant colors!

I wonder, are you and I the only ones *singing* the caption? It is, after all, the second line of an old popular songs from the 30's, "Blue Skies."

Again, great job! I loved the red, the blue, and the green together.
