We are not very far along the chain from the primeval slime, Pat. Every day the news is full of stories of how cheap life has become. It saddens me to think that this is the world I am passing on to my grandchildren.
That was no Christmas Spirit. It's the American consumerism spirit, the spirit of greed, the spirit of more is never enough, the spirit of do unto others before they get a chance to do unto you.
No Christ or Christmas anywhere in sight.
If you asked most shoppers, though, I bet they'd say they were doing it for their children.
Oh, my.....this is horrible. Absolutely, no semblance of the Christmas spirit. Truly does make it a Black Friday, and sounds like the shopping practices of that day should be rethought.

It's very sad. My dad worked as a WalMart greeter from the ages of 75 to 82. He wouldn't have stood a chance.
ReplyDeleteNo Christmas spirit at all.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the true meaning of Christmas? We seem to have lost it...
How sad -- for the man killed, for his family, for our society.
