Today's Flowers - March 13

Common Milkweed

A plant with a 'common' name has uncommonly beautiful, and fragrant, flowers. I took this photo in July, 2010, at the Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center, located about 20 miles southwest of Lincoln, Nebraska.

    I had no idea the milkweed flower was so beautiful. Wonderful shot. I think that is the Monarch's flower of choice.

    Beautiful photo! I love milkweed because it is so attractive and attracts so many different pollinators, like the fly in your photo.
