Singer: Georgia Gibbs, from YouTube
I've continued to sing the words I remembered for the last couple of hours (no, I don't remember all of them; this song was popular just after I graduated from high school-- a day or two ago.) The cats' food was dished up with a serenade of sorts. The back yard plants have been treated (?) to a "tweedle dee dee " along with their morning drink, and the deck was hosed down with an accompaniment of "gimmee, gimmee, gimmie all the love you got." If Squeak, Missy and Sweetie Pie could speak English, I'm sure they would be saying "Enough, already!"
Maybe the heat has finally fried my brain.
Tomorrow is also a day.

I hate when I get a song stuck in my head like that! It doesn't happen often but when it does....it's even more frustrating when I can't remember all the words. :) blessings, marlene
Hi Pat, I think that's kinda neat to wake up in the morning thinking of that song. It's peppy--and makes you feel good... SO--I think you are doing GREAT.... Better to wake up singing that song than wake up sad!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
I made the mistake of clicking on a link to a video of "My Sharona". Please make it stop!
No, I don't think you should be worried, and I hope the heat hasn't fried your brain. It is a catching tune, so I'll bet you got your morning chores done in record time. I often start singing crazy songs for no apparent reason -- perhaps my brain was fried many years ago.
...sounds a great song to get you moving into the day in a cheerful mood ... but. oh no, it's catchy and now it's in my head ... and it is late at night here! x
I refuse to listen to that. I am too easily trapped into a song. I ALWAYS wake up with some strange song in my head. What is that??
I have never heard the song, but then I bet I know some you haven't heard, too. But I love to work by music....and I think we all like what we grew up with.
Glad I don't wake up singing--Luckie might leave home.
I vaguely remember the song.
I am surprised you can sing with the heat wave. The vocal cords must be dried remnants of their usual selves. Keep 'em lubed with plenty of fluids.
The technical term for that is "ear worm", as in "I heard (such-and-such) and had it for an ear worm all day!"
Well, I don't know if "technical term" is correct, but that's what it's called.
Enjoyed your song....never heard it before, but if I had to wake up to a song, that would be the one!
I like it - ear worm or no!♥
