Sky Watch - March 5

(photo may be enlarged by clicking on it)

This afternoon was balmy, around 75 degrees, with a strong, warm wind from the south. I was engaged in some long-overdue leaf raking when I stopped to catch my breath and wipe my brow. When I looked up, I put down my rake, took off my gloves, went inside to get the camera and take this shot. I love to see the moon in the daytime! Photo was snapped just before 5 p.m.

Sky Watch was created by Dot and expanded upon by our retired friend Tom. This weekly theme post is brought to you by Klaus, Sandy, Fishing Guy, Ivar, Wren, and Louise. Visit the Sky Watch Friday home page anytime after 7:30 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time on Thursdays to see sky photos from around the world. You'll be glad you did.

Oh Pat, I am so glad you interrupted your long over-due raking to share this magnificent shot with us. It looks like those wispy cirrus clouds are out to grab that crescent moon.

That's a coy moon peeping out to greet us.

Love how you captured the moon, it seems to be resting on the feathered cloud.

I always think the moon seems more special when you see it during the day. In this shot, it looks like it's playing hide and seek with the clouds.

God catch, Pat. It must have felt great to be out in that warm sun!

We had the same weather as you today, but I think your sky was prettier. Our Spring wind was in full spring today.

I sure am glad you stopped raking long enough to get this shot. It's a beautiful capture of the moon in a blue sky.

Great shot, Pat. We were out on our afternoon walk about that same time when I looked up at the clouds and noticed the moon already high in the sky.

That was very well done - fitting at the edge of the clouds.

Sounds like you had a beautiful day. It got warmer here also, but not that warm. Right now at 8:15 it is 55. Thanks for stopping by and wishing the Granddaughter a happy birthday. Hoping you have a terrific week-end.
