End of Summer Hydrangea
I do love hydrangeas; when they first begin to open in late spring and are "unripe;" when they're fully mature in midsummer, and now, when they begin to dry on the bush. Each stage of their lives has its own beauty.

Pat: Those flowers are truly lovely. Thanks for all your comments.
Very nice.. I don't usually think to photograph a flower past its peak. It still has a beauty all its own.
Still beautiful even in it's decline.
Love that shade of your hydrangea. It is a beautiful flower.

Summer is going fast, but we have actually had a beautiful Autumn here in Ft. Worth. One of the nicest spells of weather I can remember in a long, long time.

Since the frost got the last of our flowers it is good to see flower pictures on blogs.
Now, THAT is a pretty photograph, Pat. Very well done, I say!!
I love Hydrangeas and I'm always curious if the colors they turn out with a change in PH levels of their soil :)
You are lucky to have any flowers..We've had too many overnight frosty temps...

Do you hang the flowers upside down to dry then spray paint them with silver or gold? I've seen them done that way...I love the hydrangea!
Sandi
this reminds me of my mom's garden: she has a bunch of hydrangea bushes
Yes, hydrangeas are beautiful at almost any stage.
They are beautiful in all their stages...I don't have any of my own but my mom had them and I bought them for my daughter.
Awwww, they're dying and still you're right they do still have a certain beauty.
Hydrangeas are always a pleasure.
Beautiful flower. I hate to see Fall coming to and end, it is so cold here today, the wind just goes through you.
Thanks for coming by and wishing me a Happy Birthday.
"Louis" had to come back and take another look at your fading hydrangeas. Hydrangeas are, to "Louis's" mind, one of the most beautiful of all flowers.
