The "Eyes" Have It - Post 106

I'm babysitting my 4 year old granddaughter for the next few days, while her Mom and Dad take a short vacation. She and I have a wonderful time together but, as I am 70 years older than she, most of my energy reserves are taken up just being around her. I'd like to say "she keeps me young," but I fear that she just makes me feel every day of my age, at least physically.

I know I have a challenge ahead of me just trying to keep up with her ever-growing number of imaginary friends. Heaven forbid that I should happen to sit down on one of them!

It should be an interesting week!

More, later.

Kids are wonderful at that age...but a challenge to keep up with! Enjoy your time with her!

Have a great time with your lively four yearold. She will delight you with her mind as much as exhaust you with her energy. You are making memories together.

If that photo is your granddaughter, I know you must be one proud grandma!

rhymeswithplague: yes, indeedy, that is she! Her entire person is as beautiful as her eyes! And, yes, I am one proud grandma. She was an 'unexpected' baby, her siblings being 16,13 and 11 at the time she was born, her mother 42 and father 49. She is the light of their lives, and mine!

I love the photo. The hardest part might be keeping up mentally, not physically. I have a hard time keeping up with the thoughts of my three year old granddaughter.

Have fun with your granddaughter....we are expecting our first grandchild in February. I am only 53, but still wondering how well I will do at babysitting.

She has such wonderful eyes. Very beautiful.

Hope you have a great week with her.

Heaven forbid! That made me laugh.

She is beautiful, and I wish you well. Maybe you can teach her about your lifestyle instead of trying to fit into hers. It would be exhausting. (I have a 4-year-old.)

Aww what a cutie. But yes, that age is a challenge. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Have you set her up with stamps yet? :)

Oh, I know what you mean. Our 8 year old and her Mother are living with us right now. So I am the one taking her to and from school in the mornings and afternoons. BUT the school levy passed, so busing should start up again. Hopefully she can catch the bus right down here at our corner. We'll see. But now I am up and dressed so I can have her to school by 8:45. Before there were times if I didn't feel like getting dressed until after lunch, it was no big deal. LOL

I think just watching all the energy they use makes us tired. Our one daughter that just turned 46 said, it's a shame that energy is wasted on a child that doesn't really know how to use it, Shame it can't be bottled so we can use it when we get older. Amen to that.

Have a fun week.

Oh wow, lucky you! She is beautiful and I 've heard it said that the more imaginary friends they have, the more interesting they are...I'm sure that is a true statement in her case...have fun!

Fabulous photo of what I am certain is a precious, beautiful child! I hope your week together was filled with fun filled moments you will both treasure for a lifetime. I imagine that you are pooped - you may need a vacation now, but I know every minute was worth it!
