A Welcome Break in the Weather

It is sixty (60) degrees outside!!! What a wonderful change! I was in the yard at 6:30 this morning, to do the weekly mowing, even if the grass was still damp. I don't like to cut wet grass, but the temperature was so right! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! It's the first time in weeks that the temperature hasn't already reached the 80's by that time of day.

I "broke a sweat" anyway, even at 60 degrees, but I did get all the front and back yard mowed without having a near heat-stroke. The bug-eating birds are happy to have their breakfasts stirred up. The feeder birds could hardly wait for me to leave the yard.

Mowing at such an early hour presented an interesting (for me) problem: how to mow all the nooks and crannies of the yard by walking only north-south/south-north, and east to west only. Otherwise, the rising sun was blinding!! There are some pretty convoluted mower-tracks in the grass; looks like I was under the influence while mowing. But... it's done. Yay!

I have a few chores to do at the church this morning, but this afternoon I'm going to play. The Little Rock rubber stamping group to which I belong will have it's monthly meeting this afternoon, an event to which I always look forward.

More, later.

Hey, I'm with you, I went out the other morning, while everything still had quite a lot of dew and mowed the backyard, because I didn't want to be out there when the temp got hotter. Last Sat. I had mowed the backyard after a heavy rain, I figure I can always clean off the mower. The backyard needed it and I hate hearing people mowing on Sundays. I figure they have six other days and evenings it could be done. Lately what I've been doing is mowing the front one day and the back the next day. Sometimes I'm out there around 8 or so in the morning. I figure if I go to bed around 12 to 1, and can be out mowing by 8, these other people should be awake to. Most everyone in this little block area are all retired and we know they don't sleep past 8. LOL We're having cooler weather today and of course, nothing needs mowed. LOL Perfect day for the Air Sow going on about 12 miles from us. Have never been to it, don't care for all the walking and the crowds. Have a great week-end.

Aren't you the early bird... :))
I know that you feel good that the chore of mowing is finished....and like the others, I would love to see some of your stamping work(s).
Smiles to you, Pat...

I wish you had photographed your outing.

Pick a Peck of Pixels is my photo blog with a difference -- I am hoping you are the difference. For this blog to be famous and me written about in the Wall Street Journal like I was in the seventies, will require more than a couple of dozen hits a day. If 10,000 visitors leave comments then it is instantly famous and your comments are part of history. Lets Make History.

Just love this cool weather What a treat. It was actually cool enough for me to mow in the noon day sun yesterday.
Tried to lay in the hammock when I was finished and I wasn't dressed warm enough. There was a lovely cool breeze. Are we sure this is July?

I'm so behind on your post. Sorry. I'm so impressed that you mow your own yard. I walked past a yard the other day there the blade must have been a little off. It looked like crop circles. Higher on one side than the other and yes they had cut the yard in a circular pattern.

I think of you every time I look at my handmade cards from you. Yes, I still have them out because they are special to me.

Hot here too. Supposed to be around 90 all week, but low fifties at night makes it bearable. People here have only recently discovered air conditioning as the weather is such that you can usually get by quite well without it.
