Today's Flowers - August 23

Full Blown Rose - John F. Kennedy

In my rose garden (very small, only 4 roses, two of which are of this variety), the John F. Kennedy rose is the longest blooming. There may be one or two buds left to open, but when other roses have finished, the J.F.K. is still putting on new growth. The buds have an ivory hue, but when fully opened, the rose is very white.

Today's Flowers is a weekly Meme created by Luiz Santilli, Jr. and currently hosted by Luiz Santilli, Jr., Denise Gullickson, Laerte Pupo and Valkyrien, and may be found here. Please visit to see others' lovely flower photos. If you have a flower photo of your own to share, please join us.

What a beauty. White flowers seem to be so difficult for me to photograph well. Not for you, I see. Lovely, Pat.

Your John F. Kennedy rose is a stunner Pat, just gorgeous. Thanks for visiting my blog and identifying the marigold. As soon as I saw that I knew it was something I should have recognized immediately but am so thankful you did. Thank your for sharing and have a great week.

I love white roses, Pat. So your JFK one is really special. How 'bout naming a rose after him??? That is special.

Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Pat, I also like this color, and when they are in full bloom and just getting ready for the petals to fall, I love to take a photograph.

Lovely rose. I had forgotten one was named for JFK .

I have a white rose bush that also blooms longer than any of my others. I thinks it's called "Bright White." It's always anice addition to a bouquet. JFK is lovely.

Gorgeous flower, Pat. Roses are beautiful flowers, but I was never successful in keeping them. Still I am not a diamond person either and I prefer roses.

A beautiful rose. Isn't it lovely how some roses do change colour as they open and age.
