Foolish me! I went to bed Sunday night without leaving a dripping faucet, and arose Monday morning able to draw water only from the cold water tap in the bathroom (which is an interior room.) Fortunately, both hot and cold water were flowing from all taps before sundown and I suffered no burst pipes.
Last night was even more frigid, by about 5 degrees, but I heard the drip, drip, drip of water in my kitchen sink every time I stirred from sleep. It was nice to be able to wash my face in warm water this morning.
Unlike many parts of the U.S., central Arkansas was blessed by the absence of freezing precipitation during the worst of it. We have much for which to be thankful.
It's January, with all the attendant work required following the end of one year and the beginning of another. I worked in the church office all day today. I made serious inroads into my work load, but still have much to do before month-end. I know I'm nuts, but I love all that record-keeping stuff.
Stay warm, and keep your powder dry.
Tomorrow is also a day.

Glad the water problem is solved.
I left our faucet dripping last night and will do it again tonight.
By Friday, we will be back in the 70 degrees again. Finally. Enough of this cold weather. We aren't used to it!

We got down to 5 degrees here. I didn't leave any faucets dripping and we had no problem, but that may be because our house is a one-story ranch on a concrete slab and all the pipes come up through the slab. I don't know whether that is true (I know nothing about construction) but it sort of makes sense to me in that we don't have any exposed pipes.
Glad you made it through unscathed.
If the administrative secretary at our church is any indication, Januarys are horrendous for church office folks. Hang in there. It too will pass.
Well---we got 2 inches of snow on Monday (first good snow of the season for us) --and it's still with us TODAY. The thermometer on our deck registered a MINUS 10 degrees yesterday morning… BUT--it's warming up today!!!! Hooray.

A friend of mine here had frozen pipes and she did let the water drip. Evidently not a strong enough stream. However like you, they did not burst and eventually melted. That had to have been scary and glad you are both back in business.
