Brrr, Humbug!

Last night, we got a small taste of what other parts of the country have been going through for weeks -- frozen precipitation.

When I went to bed, it was raining steadily with frequent thunder and temps hovering at the 32 degree mark. When I opened the curtains this morning, the ground was white with a couple of inches of sleet.

Although there are a few icicles hanging here and there, and trees and bushes have an icy sheen to them, sleet is much preferable to freezing rain.

As I write this, the temperature is 23 degrees F, and is not forecast to rise above the freezing mark until after noon tomorrow.  That doesn't bode well for our church's annual  Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, but we shall see what we shall see.

Tomorrow is also a day.

Stay warm. We had the same storm. No sleet or ice in town. Temp went from 77 to 28 in 30 minutes (or less). Ack! We did above freezing today. Start below freezing tomorrow morning and more rain coming in. Ack again!

Ugh.. I hope it warms up for you soon. I know all too well what a cold, precipitation-filled winter is like. May those pancakes be in your plate tomorrow.

It has been a very strange winter all around. I am past ready for spring. The jonquils are just beginning to bloom around here, and some years I have seen them in January.

We loved our week in your wonderful state --and it's for sure that we got outta there when we needed to!!!!

We have had that ice/snow/cold here today also... SO--guess Ole Man Winter is not finished with us yet. Darn.
Hugs,
Betsy

We had the same deal Pat. Beautiful covering that is hard as concrete but slippery as can be. I am trapped again. Temps in the teens this week hold no promise for any kind of a useful melt till Thurs. Thank goodness for Kindle. Stay safe.

What a difference it is compaRed with last Sunday, when you thought it was spring. Here spring seems to have come and will stay now. All crocuses and daffodils are out and there are more bulbs following. I wish you a great weekend ,Pat!

Good morning, thanks for your visit. Today it is chilly again, around 27, yesterday it got up in the 50's. But it's March this is the kind of weather we have towards the end of March. And tomorrow is the 17th all ready. So far this year seems to be speeding along.

Hope you've been well.

I haven't been visiting too many blogs, mostly on Facebook anymore. I do still try to post something on my blog for each day.
