Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

Water on a Collard Leaf

As I was washing the collard greens my neighbor gave me, the beads of water on the leaf caught my eye.  As you already know, I will take a photo of almost anything, and this was no exception.

Very nice, Pat.... We certainly have learned to be more observant these days, haven't we? I think Blogging has done that for me. I never EVER paid any attention to weeds before now!!!! ha

Hugs,
Betsy

I have collards, kale, and mustard greens, in my garden, all of which enjoy raw in salads for supper each night. Of course, eating them steamed and with beans, cornbread, and a baked potato is darned good too.

Truth. I find beauty in places most people don't - abandoned factory buildings, for instance, have always held a certain appeal for me - so I understand. But, this is beautiful by most normal standards! Nice.

When I looked at the "thumbnail" image of your photo, before seeing it full size, it looked to me like a picture of rolling green hill country with hedges! Amazing the "worlds within worlds" that there are around us. You can imagine what a grand and happy home that leaf would be to a little caterpillar, or how different the top of a large tree would seem to the birds that lived there. Never tasted a collard before, is it anything like chard (what we would call silverbeet here)?
Nice photo.
