More Blooms

In one of my earliest posts, I wrote about the Mophead Hydrangea pictured above. It was planted in the spring of 1965. At the time, it was just a florist's potted hydrangea that had been sent to our family at the time of my father's death in January of that year.  It has grown quite large over the years and is one of my pride and joy plants.  Yesterday morning, it was covered with blooms in various stages, as shown below.

 Just opened; still greenish white.

Beginning to show a bit of blue.

Getting there. Green gone; now pale blue and white.

All blue, and about 6" or 7" across.

Other plants now in bloom in my front garden are:

I love those huge, bronze leaves!

Calibrachoa (million bells)
a gift from Gardening Daughter.

I do love this time of year!

I suppose I could have used these photos for several posts, but other plants will be blooming tomorrow and in the following weeks.  I'll have "Springy" blog fodder for a while before the interminable summer heat arrives.

Tomorrow is also a day.

Love, Love , LOVE the hydrangeas...I planted one last year and it just didn't survive and it made me sad. I will have to go back and try again because they are just gorgoeus!
Makes me think of the title; The Many Moods of Me!

HI Pat, Great pictures of your beauties... I especially love Hydrangeas.

Hope you escaped all of the severe weather yesterday. We have rain today--but nothing severe.
Hugs,
Betsy

Spring has really sprung at your place. I love the flowers but am also fond of lovely foliage plants like your Variegated Hosta. I have only had minimal success with mine.

I'm not able to work in my beloved garden at the moment, so it is so lovely to see all these stunning pictures of your beautiful flowers. God's provision for me and others, I'm sure. Thank you so much sharing it with us. x

I wandered round a garden centre yaterday looking for annuals for my very tiny gardev. I recently moved from a big house with a big yard to a much smaller home, and I miss the garden. However I don't miss all the yard work!
Where I lived in UK, there were lots of those HUGE hydrangea bushes. Our annual carnival featured floats that were totally covered with hydrangea blooms. I wonder if they still do that?

I love blue hydrangea. They make me think of my Dad who planted them on either side of our front door. Beautiful blooms.
