Cat

Missy

Missy and I have just returned from the vet's office.  She has an ear infection that I have treated at home for a week or so, but the problem has not improved to my satisfaction so it was time for professional attention.

Missy, my one remaining cat, is (as you might imagine) my cosseted baby.  What is it, I wonder, about old ladies and their cats?  She definitely rules the roost around here. It might be better to say that "I am owned by a cat" rather than "I own a cat."

Although the streets are clear, there is still ice on vegetation and utility wires. The temps are still below freezing at this writing but I won't complain: My Nebraska daughter called me yesterday to report that it was -17 at her home place -- and that wasn't the wind chill! Double "brrrr!"

Tomorrow is also a day.

Hope Missy is better soon. Cats are wonderful companions. Not just "old ladies and their cats" who worry about cats...., 101 year old potters do too!
Stay Warm! P, L, & NS xx

Hi Pat, Brrrr---we went down to minus 10 a couple of times in January.. That is FRIGID to me. How much snow did you finally get? We still have only had a couple of small snows this winter --the least we have had here in years. BUT--it's been colder... Crazy!!!!!

Hope Missy will be okay. I know she is special to you.
Hugs,
Betsy

Missy sure is a beauty. I hope she is on the mend soon. Yes, our cats rule the roost.. they're just so good at it.

It's been super cold most everywhere lately. When I got up this morning, the thermometer read -30C (-22F). And that was downright balmy compared to many other nights.

I think I remember a winter when we were in Omaha in the 1960s when something got down to -32 -- can't remember whether it was the temp or the wind child, but it was brutal, whatever it was.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Thanks for your comment on my blog today.

What a pretty kitty! I too am owned by a cat. We get along fine as long as I conform to his expectations of what a human is good for: feeding, petting, cleaning the litter box. I guess you can tell who is in charge by who picks up whose poop!

As a former "owned by a cat" person, I understand completely!
Hoping that your Missy feels better. She is beautiful!!

I used to have a cat - Jackson - who ruled our lives for 12 years. Sometimes I still think I see him slipping around a corner. blessings, marlene
