(from a greeting card I made in 2003)
Except for the colors, this is pretty much what it looked like from my office window just before sunset today. It was a beautiful, sunshine-filled day here with the temperature rising to over 60 degrees. I have to confess that I didn't take proper advantage of this temporary break in the chilly weather. Instead of hauling out the leaf-blower and clearing the front yard, I took a nap.
A cup of coffee, consumed with my evening meal at Gardening Daughter's home, kept my eyelids wide open until the wee hours. Sometimes I can drink coffee at night and still sleep like a baby. Not last night. I finally fell into the arms of Morpheus about the time that other folk are rising. My slumber wasn't long enough to refresh me, and I had a bad "sinking spell" about 3 p.m. Thinking I would just rest awhile (hahaha) I made myself comfy in my recliner, and picked up the book I had begun to read last night. I was awakened by a telephone call just before five o'clock, so I probably snoozed for at least an hour and a half.
I hope this recounting of my fun-filled day has not left you too excited to sleep tonight.
I'll be going to bed soon.
Tomorrow is also a day.

A nap sounds sooooooo good!
That card is lovely!
I so dislike those sleepless nights. I sure hope you can get a much better night's sleep tonight. Sweet dreams, Pat.
Simply beautiful.....
and I so covet some sun.......
:)
It's okay. I don't sleep worth a darn anyway.
Hi Pat, We have had a great day here also. It's still cool --but much better than it has been.
Your nap makes me sleepy right now!!!!! I can drink coffee and still sleep well... BUT--before I had my knee surgery in June, I went through some sleepless nights dealing with the pain. It was NO FUN....
Hope you get lots of rest this weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. Love that greeting card. You have so much talent.
Your greeting card is just lovely.
Any day spent doing ANYthing is a good day as far as I'm concerned!
No more coffee for you, my friend!
I've had days like that, and I firmly believe a nap is a great cure.
I like your card.
Oh how I hate that coffee high. I am caffine sensitive and can't drink any after lunch yet when I am tired from driving on a long trip, it does nothing to keep me sharp. Go figure.
Nap away lady, naps are delicious.
I pulled up a lawn chair yesterday and soaked up the sun on my exposed parts. Wonderful.
I could drink all the coffee I wanted at any hour of day or night and still sleep...until I turned 30. Since then, it's been decaf for me! We also drink decaffeinated green tea at our house, sometimes with honey in it.
Hope you get your nights and days straightened out soon!
Your art work is beautiful! And as for the sleep - or lack of - you have the story of my life in a nutshell! I'm just lucky I can let Morpheus have his wicked way as an when he chooses, now work doesn't intrude. May sweet dreams enfold you when next you sleep...
Ah I would love to be able to nap...I just can't. Love this weather but I think we are due to return to frigid cold next week!
Forty winks? Catnap? Snooze? If one can, let it happen.Love the picture...I've been snapping at trees lately, silhouetted against the sky...I call the results 'Winter Lace' Rather like your picture.
