New Year - Day 9 - What is that White Stuff?

Cold Gray Skies - 2 p.m. January 9, 2011
Looks like the forecast was right - 4 p.m.

Pretty, isn't it?  -  5 p.m.

Still snowing - 9 p.m.
Posted by Picasa

The snow began to fall just before 3 p.m. and is still falling as I write this. I may, or may not, be going to work tomorrow.  Whether I do or don't, I see that the bird feeders will have to be filled again in the morning. I filled both feeders at least half full about 2 p.m. The birds came by the dozens to the feeders when it began to snow and kept eating, I think, until there was no more.

A snowy ending to the ninth day of the new year.  Tomorrow is also a day.

Stay home Pat and enjoy the snow. We don't get it all that often.
We even got some here in N Ark. I can't wait to go walking in the quiet.

It's a winter wonderland here as well. North Georgia has received at least six inches of snow, and now it is being covered with sleet and freezing rain (ice). Probably a once-in-a-decade event for the sunny south.

Stay warm and stay well.

Hi Pat!

What lovely, lovely things you said on my blog! Thank you so much!

It is my wish that you get a good goat snuzzle in 2011! You never forget your first goat snuzzle!

I love your blogs as well and look forward to following!

Have a lovely and creative day!

A little snow can be beautiful as long as it doesn't overstay its welcome. Snow began around four o'clock up our way and continued falling through midnight -- around an inch on the ground. We won't be going anywhere until it melts, and considering the low temperatures forecast, that won't be soon. It's a good thing we're well stocked with sunflower seeds and suet mixture for the birds.

Some of your white stuff made it over here. We've only had about four inches, but it has brought everything to a screeching halt. You definitely would not get to work if you lived here! If you go out, be careful.

I hope all this snowy business down south comes to a screaming halt by the first two weeks of February. When I leave Wisconsin to go south on vacation the last thing I want to see is snow! Enjoy it while you can; because I'm sending a message to the MAN UPSTAIRS for all of it to be gone soon. lol

Mel, go right ahead with your talk to the MAN UPSTAIRS. It can't be gone quick enough to suit me.

January 9th is my sons birthday, and it seems like more often than not we have a winter storm around that time. Yesterday was no exception.

We have had the same kind of day in NW Okieland and now the temp is headed down to 4 overnight! Stay safe and warm.

Lovely photos, Pat. Be safe in that weather and thank you for looking out for the feathered critters.

Glad you got a pretty snow, Pat.... We got it also --about 4-5 inches. It's so cold --so I'm sure it will be with us for several days.

Love the night pictures showing the snow falling.
Hugs,
Betsy
