PIECES

If there was a specific day
that I started to fall apart,
I can't recall it.

Mirrors now reflect
only worn and faded pieces
of the youth I remember.

A universal emotion .... simplicity and complexity joined.

Neat photo and poem, Pat... Let's try to keep the pieces together --and quit looking into the mirror... ha ha

Is that the same Kincaid family --which does all of the fabulous nature paintings?????

Hugs,
Betsy

I really like this photo, but I don't like to think about starting to fall apart.

Great take on the prompt and a brilliant opening line for a short story or novel.

Nice one, Pat. Thank goodness for being short-sighted, everything I see in the mirror, is reflected in soft focus.

Yes, very nice. How many of us feel like this, the more so as we get older.

Why is it always so un-defineable? That day when... Wonderful writing!

Do you ever wonder when you first felt your first real emotional pain and was it as hard as what prompted you to write that? When I write pieces like that I sometimes feel like they are stacked in a bucket and at what point will that bucket overflow and than I realize that I've been draining the bucket all along with writing.

I think you expressed this feeling exactly!

Yes, I see the same in my mirror, as well.

(No, Betsy, not the same Kincaid, but maybe connect somewhere back in the distant DNA.)
